ADHD focus sounds
A slightly richer, more textured mix to keep an ADHD brain engaged through long tasks.
Why this mix works
Many adults with ADHD report that complete silence is harder to work in than a richly textured soundscape. The popular hypothesis is "stochastic resonance" — a moderate level of unrelated stimulation helps an under-stimulated system stay engaged with the primary task. This preset is intentionally busier than the standard rain mix and is best paired with a clearly defined task and a timer.
- Provides enough background texture to satisfy a stimulation-seeking brain.
- Reduces the urge to "check" notifications or open new tabs mid-task.
- Pairs well with lo-fi or instrumental music — voice tracks generally hurt performance.

How to use it
- 1Define exactly one task in writing before pressing Play.
- 2Use a visible timer (Apple Timer / Forest / a kitchen timer) — sound + time pressure works better than sound alone.
- 3If you start zoning out, raise the Typing slider — the irregular rhythm re-engages attention.
Frequently asked questions
- Is there scientific evidence for sound and ADHD?
- Several small studies (notably the "MIDS" line of research) have found that some ADHD adults benefit from low-level noise. Results vary by person — treat this as a tool to experiment with, not a clinical treatment.
